India’s First Hand Transplant surgery supported by Imaginarium’s 3D Printing Solutions

Imaginarium has been a forefront of 3D Printing solutions in India for the past two decades in India. The company has played a key role in the India’s first shoulder level limb transplant of 15 year old Anamta Ahmad. After facing a deadly electrocution incident of 11k volt wire that led to amputation of Anamta’s limb. A custom 3D Printed orthotic part was designed and developed by Imaginarium.

Anamta’s case was complex because of the level of injury and recovery process of transplantation. Normal traditional methods were not capable of medically supporting her need in the recovery process and complex design needs. Imaginarium designed the brace customized to Anamta’s ergonimics and 3D printed with a specific bio-compatible polymer. The most critical requirement was fit, comfort factor and durability. Also the style factor was important as a teenager’s mindset.
